Hawkwell Athletic Football Club (HAFC) has been successfully running football teams since its early beginnings in 1974 when there were just three junior teams and a handful of committee members. Since that time, the club has grown into one of the largest football clubs in the Southend area, catering for mini, junior, senior, girls, ladies and vets soccer players.
HAFC has a well established tradition of attracting boys and girls alike, to a well organised, friendly and respected club. Add this tradition to many other factors including our CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks for all managers and assistants, our mandatory coaching courses for all team managers, our policy for training young referees and our ‘All Inclusive Playing’ mandate and you will understand why in 2006 The FA awarded HAFC with the ‘Charter Standard Community Award’, the highest level of the charter program that can be bestowed upon a football club.
